What's In Your Go-To-Church Bag? The Must-Haves of A Christian Mom

Church is a family affair typically attended by parents and their kids. Hence, it is normal for a mother to carry a bag for the family's necessities when we attend church gatherings. They are especially made to keep the children busy, creative and interested in God.

Now what's in your church bag? We've gathered some of the popular must-haves for every Christian mom.

1. Different Materials for A Quiet Activity

These items remain in the church bag and aren’t played with except for on Sunday mornings during church. It helps for the kids to not lose interest in them so quickly since they are only taken out once a week.

  • Mini coloring books

  • Crayons

  • Stickers

  • Doodle Pads

Rotate the old activities out for some new ones every couple of weeks to keep things fresh and interesting.

2. Soft Books

Soft books are the best. Some books have interactive pages with a pocket full of felt pieces to arrange on the page. These felt books tell of Bible stories like Noah’s Ark, Jonah and the Whale, Adam and Eve in the Garden, etc.

It boosts the creativity of children to put together animals, characters, and make a cute story out of them

3. Children's Bulletins

Do you remember receiving a children’s bulletin at church? I remember them. Not only does it make you feel very important receiving my own bulletin, but they were tons of fun! Full of puzzles and pictures to color.

Churches don’t hand out children’s bulletin’s anymore, at least not that I know of, but there is a children's book in the market that is filled with these bulletins. Cool, yah?

There is one for ages 3-6  and another one for Ages 7-10. Each book includes 52 children’s bulletins, so you’re good for a year!

4. Snacks

A hungry kid is a cranky kid. The last thing you want are tantrums thrown at church. So don't leave for church without this item in your bag. Depending on your kid's age, pack little snacks just in case they get hungry.

Baby puffs for babies

  • Fruit leather

  • Raisins

  • Applesauce squeezers

  • Juice

  • Healthy snack bars

It's important that kids are happy and are receptive to God's message when in church. If these items will help keep them busy but at the same time learn something about God, then it is worth bringing a bag to church.

That's ours. What's in yours?
