Everything comes to an end eventually whether we consider it a good thing or not. And when something ends, especially in a difficult way, starting afresh is hard. But fresh starts are God’s expertise so read on and learn how you can move forward with God:
Depend on God completely
As Christians, we are taught not to rely on our own strength but depend on God completely. We do this through prayer. Pray for strength, mercy and grace as you go through the process of starting over. Starting over is God’s way of directing us to a life that is full and wonderful. It says in Jeremiah 29:11, “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Pursue the right dream
Do you have a dream that you’re currently pursuing but you feel stuck? As you think about your dreams, think also about your motivation for pursuing them. Are your motivations based on your desire for people to value and notice you? If your answer to these questions are all yes, then you’re pursuing a wrong dream. Pray that God gives you a humble heart that soughts for God’s will for your life. Pray also for a heart that desires God’s dreams because this is where true greatness comes. Pursuing God’s dreams will transform you into a person with a strong character, just like Jesus.
Understanding true success
What is success for you? If your definition of success is wealth, significance or security then you’re in for another difficult end. True success focuses on giving and not on getting and this is achieved by serving others for the glory of God. Pray that God gives you opportunity to serve in different ways so that you’ll be able to find the kind of service you’re most designed to do.
Learn to handle conflict
Strains in relationships are inevitable. Conflict is an integral part of relationships as well as resolutions. Pray to God that He strengthens your resolve to do what is right and not what is easy. Confront the people you’re in conflict with by apologizing for your part in the conflict and forgiving those who have hurt and offended you. You’ll be a stronger person as you learn to resolve conflict, glorifying God in the process.
Heal yourself of past rejections
Rejection is rooted in the desire of a person to please other people instead of God. We must remember that people will fail us, sooner or later, but God’s unconditional love never fails. Pray to God to help you see your own potential despite past rejections. And also pray that God gives you a more compassionate heart especially for the people who rejected you.
